The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has been looking to lock down another exciting match up with mixed martial arts superstar Conor McGregor. That being said, following a career high payday in his professional boxing debut, Conor McGregor is looking to negotiate a new standing with the mixed martial arts promotion.
“Notorious” made his boxing debut back in August. The fighter faced off against undefeated pugilist legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. While McGregor fended off the boxer for nine rounds, Mayweather earned a TKO finish in the tenth. Still, McGregor is believed to have earned an alleged $100 million from his performance.
Now “Notorious” is looking to make an octagon return, but only under his conditions. The UFC lightweight champion has revealed that interim champion Tony Ferguson is the next fighter on his list, with the two looking to meet inside the octagon at UFC 219. However, terms have yet to be locked in for the possible match up.
MMA journalist Dave Meltzer has come forward to report that the two fighters nearly came to terms, but things have since changed. The two fighters reportedly went back and forth in negotiations, with the UFC agreeing to the fighters’ terms. However, Conor McGregor has since changed his mind on his terms.
