Cris Cyborg has finally landed an opponent for her first title defense. This time, the mixed martial artist will be throwing down with former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm. In preparation for the fight, Cyborg has revealed that she has added a former opponent of Holm’s to her training camp.
Cris Cyborg earned the UFC featherweight title back at UFC 214, when she finished Tonya Evinger. Now the champion will face off against Holly Holm at UFC 219. The event goes down Dec. 30 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
Speaking on The MMA Hour, Cris Cyborg revealed that she is now training with Mia St. John. St. John is a former WBC champion and a former opponent of Holly Holm’s.
The two boxers went toe-to-toe inside the squared circle back in 2005, with Holms earning a unanimous decision victory over her opponent.
