It would appear that UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg has decided to take a more unique approach to promoting her upcoming match up.
Cyborg has been hunting for an opponent to face her in the octagon for some time now. The fighter earned the featherweight title with a finish over Tonya Evinger at UFC 214. Since then, Cyborg has been looking for an opponent for her first defense of the title. Now the fighter has a match up.
Former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm will go toe-to-toe with Cyborg at UFC 219. The event goes down Dec. 30 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. In promotion for the fight, Cyborg recently took to Instagram to share a manipulated image of herself with the face of Wanderlei Silva.
In the post, Cyborg stated:
“It looks like the fans of @hollyholm are excited for Dec 30th #ufc219 today is the start of week 6 from the fight! I am more motivated in training for this fight than I have ever been in my career! I feel this new contract with the @UFC is the start of a new career for me!”
