Cris Cyborg took out Tonya Evinger at UFC 214 for the featherweight title. Since then, the newly crowned champion has been on the hunt for an opponent to face her in the fighter’s first title defense.
After weeks of exchanging trash-talk, Cyborg and former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm have locked down a date for their highly anticipated match up. The two fighters will now be throwing down Dec. 30 at UFC 219 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
Holly Holm recently pulled herself out of a three fight losing streak with a stunning question mark kick knockout over Bethe Correia at UFC Fight Night 111. Now the fighter will be making a shot for the UFC featherweight title as she faces Cyborg in Dec.
Now a video of Cris Cyborg sparring with former boxing phenom Mia St. John has made its way to the internet. As provided by TMZ Sports, Cyborg can be seen training her striking with the former boxing opponent of Holly Holm in the video below.
