Rising UFC heavyweight Curtis Blaydes has only suffered a single loss in his mixed martial arts career. The fighter faced a second round TKO loss to Francis Ngannou back in 2016. Having just taken out “The Super Samoan,” Blaydes is ready to claim that Ngannou is a harder striker.
Blaydes went toe-to-toe with Mark Hunt at UFC 221 over the weekend, with the two mixed martial arts warriors co-headlining the event in Perth, Western Australia. Blaydes would go on to earn a unanimous decision victory over the fighter.
In a statement following his big with over “The Super Samoan,” Blaydes explained that he believes UFC knockout artist Francis Ngannou still hits harder than his most recent opponent.
“I debuted against Francis Ngannou, who, I will give him that, he is the heaviest hitter I’ve ever faced.” Blaydes stated. “He hits harder than Mark Hunt. No disrespect to Mark Hunt, they both hit hard, we are splitting hairs here, but Ngannou hits harder. And I already knew I had a chin.”
